Make way for ducklings!

Blue runner ducklings, to be precise. Eleven of them. They were born on March 25th and arrived at the East Kingston Post Office on the 26th. Everyone on the farm seems to have a soft spot for ducks so we’ve started this small flock just for fun. Admittedly keeping them warm for the first few weeks has had unintended consequences, but now they are outside in their own coop and soon we expect to see them out and about on the farm, joining our even smaller flock of chickens. We’ll be posting about these birds and other, wilder varieties—because of our proximity to Powwow Pond and the swamps that comprise much of the farm, we are a birder’s paradise—periodically.
